Very handsome piece, indeed. However, I would always examine the royal signets and that of the upper 10,000 with special scrutiny. There is a cottage industry in the improvement of such headgear to include the dynastic houses....and the stars of Almanach de Gotha....

Hi Spandau, I have the same one, with velvet band as well. What I know about them is that they are artillery, and the velvet band ones are artillery officer caps. Any idea on the price of these caps? I was offered a hefty price for mine...but I am missing the top cockade. Any thoughts on prices of ww1 cockades as well?
