Just sold for EU 300:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
Imperial visors usually get it worse than TR:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
Luftwaffe visor that has been baking in an attic for the past 75 years:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
Putting the "luft" in Reichs Luftaufsicht
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
What a crying shame the hungry little mongrels had to feed on those two rare caps !!!
Wow--it just went for EUR 481.90

This cap comes from the grandfather of a friend of mine.
Its history (and, admittedly, authenticity) is unclear to me.
It was given to me in the state that it is in, with no insignia and
a bit worse for wear. The most odd feature it has is the sweatband, which also
seems heavily altered in the back. Has anybody ever encountered one like this?
Hello Svlad - the admins will perhaps move your post to the authentication section where it actually belongs - it is not so beaten that it would fit in here.
As to the cap: it seems to be an (original) EM infantry cap (considering the lining & shape) which was upgraded to offficer (when is the question) and the sweatband of which was obviously replaced (empty stichholes in the leather, the piece that closes the gap at the back) - again: when is the question. It seems to have been done professionally using one of the special sewing machines for this purpose.
thank you for your input and the information, ErWeSa!
