I stumbled across this site while doing my usual (mostly dead-end) research. It is operated by a non-profit organisation in the US called The Wilson History & Research Center. I had never heard of it until now. Does anyone know the story of this group, and who is the collector behind it?
He has some very rare headgear, some attributed. There are multi-views of the headgear if you click on the hat. Unfortunately, he does not display the interiors for most, but the vast majority appear to be good just from exteriors alone. I have seen a few of these hats before, I will just have to rack my brains as to where, but it was not on the site.
He has a killer NSDAP white-top for Justiz:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
I am too tired to go thru it right now, but it does appear that not only are most of the visors real, but also in phenomenal condition, and some are attributed.
I am curious to know what anyone else knows about this group/collection.

I saw it before. I am not sure how scholarly it really is, in fact.
Write to them and ask for their bona fides.
I am not exactly sure how this collection of hats is attached to a law school, in fact, if that is the case.
The scholarly description of certain pieces of headgear is surely not at what I would associate with a university, in fact, with citations from all the pedestrian English language collector reference books.
Maybe it is the collection of a rich donor and the display is the condition of an endowment or something.
Maybe I should have them buy my collection, nicht wahr?
"Or it is a tax scam of some kind".
The fact that one of the web pages is entirely devoted to a tax exemption document makes me inclined to think your last comment is rather close to the truth.

Sorry to be so skeptical, but such is the result of experience.
I can report that Santa brought me my CD of Uniformenmarkt ahead of the snows, ice and storms.
I have spent two hours wrecking my eyesight with the lousy reproduction of same from microfilm, but since I read a lot of microfilmed documents, I can say that the thing is well worth the price. There is a great deal on the head wear industry as well as crafts and trades, as well as the rigors of doing business with the RZM. This aspect is especially compelling, really.
Happy headwear and happy tax break.
I wish I could find out a way to get a tax break because of my old hats and jackets...
