Shame it's a reproduction!!
i saw that one too,,,,i didnt know when the auction would end,,,but the buyer will not need a colonoscopy anytime soon!!!!!
Oh my,
What a trajedy. Fortunately for me i will stick to something more familiar to me or ask lots of questions before a venture such as that.
Honestly there is no excuse for it.
Oh my something about homework and knowledge springs to mind
Still lookin Ben, no luck yet, but there is always a silver lining. Boy was Bedford ever crap!
Leeds week after next, fingers crossed
Cheers John, you're a star!
I'm never really sure if these "high end" items actualy sell for the published hammer price or whether it's sometimes just a ploy to get the punters in. A lot of stuff seems to turn up for sale again pretty quickly for a lot less. Maybe I'm just being cynical. If this was a genuine sale today though, you have to wonder what the hell are people doing spending 25k on something so obviously not original!?
A fake? OMG!!! Please excuse my ignorance but please would some one in the know give a lesson to the likes of me? I know its a learning curve but the item doesnt look too bad to me.
Wow! What a huge mistake for somebody. 25,000 euros that should be a nice down payment on a new heart transplant.
This is the second Hess cap on the auction market--Rock Island Auctions has the other. Just goes to show that money and brains do not go hand in hand.

The August Muller stencil is a well known reproduction along with the lining material and sweatband. Another clue is the peak, it's so off centre, it's quite funny.
Please have a look at this excellent thread posted by Stonemint.
