I like to see your will for conservation, but restauration is something else...I don' t want to be rude, but to me thise is "repared"; not "restaured". If you want thise restaured , please check with professionals, it can be done; but is is expensive!

Nice job Seb,congrats. I'm with Phil on this one though. As long as i could arrest the deterioration i would've left it be. That's just my opinion though. Stewy

I see some more restauration going on in the back-ground ... with cloth-pegs...
If you are intrested in doing thise, find a scool where propper manners can be learned.
Cloth restauration is not the easyest among all restaurations, but if you like doing thise; it can not be a probleme, and maybe you can get a living out of it .

    Wolfy, what have you done!

You know I love you but unless you can make a repair look almost invisible, it's not a good idea to try it. I think everyone would agree that now, their eyes go straight to the piece of cloth that you stitched in and that's not good. Best take it out again.
Sorry for the bad news but the truth is, not even the best guys in the business would try and repair a hole like that.

Dear Ben, Happy Xmas + New Year + and lot of new girls friends for you.

    Wolfy, what have you done!
This is a New year, and I had a new idea or 2 maybe :

First : I change my Girl Friend
Second : I restore my ss cap

I choose the second option lol

even the best guys in the business would try and repair a hole like that.
You are 100% Right my friend, but I am crazy, and a simple collector, not a banker or a dealer, just me.

their eyes go straight to the piece of cloth that you stitched in and that's not good. Best take it out again.
Benny, how many jacket, cap and other are restored in period with a other wool ?
the wool is original, the cap also...I am happy with, it's not a bad job, just a collector choice for this collection.

After many collectors dont like the restoration, a other part yes if original...

And the value of this cap is always the same, I wish..lol

    thanks again all
