Herzlich willkommen.
So nice to see you here once more.
A very handsome piece, indeed.
NSFKs by the same maker.....................
Zins seems to have specialised in kepis.
You know what I think of said "place," in fact. We could imagine another meaning for the acronym "WAF," but I shall resist the base urge to play with scatology. We celebrate your sense of humour and take great pleasure in it, to say nothing of our humble respect for your diligence as an author.
Craig Gottlieb currently has for sale this Wagner made Kepi which is identical but in rather better condition to the one shown by FB in post #5. A lot of very interesting ink stamps applied here and I've asked for more photos to study but haven't had a reply yet.
If you read his write up about it on his website, a few others were recently found at the same time in a "costume company storeroom"
In the words of a song, some guys have all the luck!
You might ask Bob Coleman about this issue, as he has some experience in the matter.
I can make out the letters LANDES something on the ink stamp which might suggest a LAGO but why it should be marked this way is beyond me.
hard for me to quite make it out but perhaps: XXXXXX DES LANDESATELIERS XXXXXX
would make sense for the dative case given the "DES" is there and i think not too difficult to make out correctly.
i feel almost that i am channeling the dead to say that perhaps the first word is "AGENTUR". therefore, perhaps: "AGENTUR DES LANDESATELIERS XXXXXX".
perhaps even: "AGENTUR DES LANDESATELIERS GOTHA". but please... pay no attention. ridiculous to think i can see that from said marking.
but one must try.
Its "xxxx DES LANDESTHEATERS GOTHA" which apparentely was/is? in Mühlhausen.
