Without the men who wore this hat, Goering might have succumbed to an early passing climbing all those stairs at the Reichluftfahrtministerium--the men of the few, the proud, the Farstuhlfuehrer--ie, Elevator Operators/Doormen (Pfoertner).
As most of you know, I don't collect Wehrmacht anymore, but this one still fits the bill of Civilian headgear--these guys were civilians employed by the LW to act as Doormen/Lift Operators at the Luftflottenkommando; Luftgaukommandos; LW Befehlshaber; and Fliegerkorps:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
Hat is a later-dated (1942) piece. Surprising in that the sweatband is leather, and is joined at the rear, instead of the commonly seen side-joinder for EM/NCO LW visors:

Hat was unissued and never worn--it still has the original tissue paper around the inside. Hat is listed as a 55.5, but has a paper tag indicating 56.5--no idea how that happened.

Man, that is a nice mint cap. I imagine quite hard to find. I was not even aware of this type.. I would think the armband is very nice also. It looks great with the cap.
