Steinach: Your German is good. And I hear, also, your French. Your arms...

No visor but this is Alberty as the German tank commander guarding the bank in 'Kelly's Heroes'. This is maybe my all-time favorite scene from any movie...'We are under strict orders to guard the bank and befehl ist befehl'... 'there's 200M worth of gold in that bank'..... Next cut an 88 shell knocks down the doors. I guess he was a republican afterall

"Höchst erfreulich!" is his German answer (as far as I can hear) - which should be "Sehr erfreut!" - for the purists.

There was another Panzer guy in his tank. Alberty was not alone. They never showed the other German tanker. What happened to him ?

By the way...Kellys' Heroes was filmed in a small town in Yugo named Vizinada. We did a google map search of it & looks exactly the same. Courtyard, streets, believe the bank too. etc.etc.
Our member LeonardoL could probably ride a bicycle to go visit. I was planning to go there, but it is in the middle of nowhere !! Probably have to pick fruit off the trees to eat & sleep in your car.

I once heard Richard Dawson, in an interview that he gave years ago, mention that the actor who played Colonel Klink in Hogan's Heroes actually wore a uniform from his own personal collection.
