Interesting to see the caps like that. First I can tell about the camo with insignia, twice seen by me was allways without grommets. They are so rare to speak about doubts ( looks like here a lot of peoples who saw the cap like that more than 5 times )
Doubts must be with facts- not just a feeling- it's fake!
I can say myself if the cap is not genuine- why?: the material and type of muster ( not all the camo materials used under production of the caps)
Grommets- as seen original, you can easily recognize the fakes, due of hard construction....
IMHO, the caps without grommets must have insignia, the caps with metal grommets is hard to find, and must of them; found in Eastern front was in that type. The caps with hand stitching grommets, seen by me twice in the museums as a trophee from the 1944-45 years ( Trophee of the RA)...
Of cause- everyone can have own opinion, but I prefer to say whats wrong at my IMO in that item, instead of - IT'S FAKE AND THATS IT.

Mark my words, one of these days lady luck is going to shine on me and I WILL find a jewel such as this. I might be old and grey but itle happen!
I know you will, Killroy! I want to find real stuff at the local flea market or thrift store for pennies on the dollar! I would not sell of course, but have my wife bitch at me for displaying in the house!
