Collection of Post 1939 Hitlerjugend Shoulder Straps of the Allgemeine Hitlerjugend

Here are some examples of my post 1938 Allgemeine Hitlerjugend Shoulder straps and boards. In mid 1938 the Hitlerjugend shoulder straps background colors changed from braun to a black background and remained this way until the end of the war. These are lower level Hitlerjugend member straps and Mid Level Leadership straps. Red numerals and piping denoted allgemeine (general) H.J.. I've been collecting for around 5 years now. There are some pairs and some single examples. Feel free to ask any questions regarding the Bann numbers, names or locations.

Thanks for the comments gents. Here are some examples of my Motor H.J. shoulder straps and boards from my collection. Bann 83 Kassel and the Bann 564 Villach Obergefolgschaftsfuhrer straps have internal stiffeners and factory sewn litzen, constructed for the rank from the factory. Many times H.J. straps are found with added pips and litzen so it's nice find examples with factory applied rank devices attached. The Bann 561 Klangenfurt set came sewn together with the motor H.J. sleeve qualification, and I picked up the matching Gebeits triangle for a good price, as the H.J. examples of the triangle are somewhat hard to find.

Do you think the two lower pips that penetrate the tag on the 564's were put on when manufactured or after? Do the pins for the upper pip go all the way through the cloth of the board or are they just under the tag?

Hi Ralph,
The 83's were once part of the Baker collection, I'm now the lucky owner. As to the pips on the 564's the upper pip pins are under the tag, they go through the board. I've got a few examples where the pips are stabbed right through the tag. Those examples have internal stiffeners in them making them more "board" like than straps. Some of the earlier 1934 pattern straps have the numerals sewn through the tags, as blank strap were sold at RZM retailers and meant to have the numerals added later in the early period of H.J. organization.

Thank you for your comments guys. Here are some of my Flieger H.J. shoulder straps. Flieger sets are pretty popular, with Bann 663 Litzmanstadt straps being availible at many dealers due to a horde find of unissued straps. You will find many humped up H.J. uniforms with Flieger H.J. Bann 663 straps on them. Even in the Angolia reference the owner of some of the Fliger H.J. uniforms told me he added the straps for the photos. Be wary when you see H.J. uniforms with these straps as the triangle almost never matches, it must be the "Ost Wartheland" triangle, which are difficult to find.

These are some of my Marine H.J. shoulder straps. As with the Flieger H.J. the Bann 663 Litzmanstadt M.H.J. straps are found on many dealers sites. Some of these have Kriegsmarine anchor cyphers on them, a practice which was not allowed by regulation but done occasionally as evidenced in period photos. The Bann 255 Hild Gefolgschaftsfuhrer has internal stiffeners in it making it more "board" like than a strap.
