Since there are some WWI types here with das EhrenKreuz,
here's a few more:
Regards,
Steve.
Let me fill in the blanks on the unidentified decorations in post # 20:
- Group 1 (second medal on the bar): Friedrich-August-Kreuz II. Klasse [Friedrich-August-Cross 2nd Class], a decoration of the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg
- Group 4 (second medal on the bar): Hessische Tapferkeitsmedaille [Hessian Medal of Bravery]
- Group 6 (fourth medal on the bar): Magyar Háborús Emlékérem [Hungarian War Commemorative Medal]
I currently only own the two examples which can be found below. One came from a personal friend who was a vet, which is a war-prize he brought back after the war. Therefore, though not a particularly rare item, I still find it to be quite special, and one of my favorite items in my collection, actually.
Wehrmacht-Heer
Wehrmacht-Luftwaffe
I've always found the attachment mechanics and construction of these to be intriguing. It is also interesting to see all the different variants; from German to Austrian - marker to marker, etc...
Some beautiful pieces have been posted so far, especially yours, Robin....I paticularly like the matching set to Ribbon bar, as well yours, too, Walkwolf. Congratulations to all those whom own the examples seen above.
Great thread Guys and good to see some very nice medal bars and medal combinations.
Interesting to see a Third Reich produced Imperial EK2 on this one from Michael......
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
