Sounds good, but wont it saturate the wood and leave a permanent smell?

Re: Look what WW2 items I got for $30!
The bayonet is nice, it'll look great once its cleaned up but I also have my doubts about the buckle, the details on it arent as crisp/sharp as ones I've seen before.
Thanks

The bayo is coming great! Once it is done pics will be posted. I am uncertian of the buckle too, but for $5 i dont mind. The bayo is worth more than 30, i hope.

The buckle is as fake as the fake can be, probably ugliest I've ever seen.

Re: Look what WW2 items I got for $30!
That was a nice deal. The buckle as already stated in a poor fake. But the bayonet makes up for that.
Any solvent will removed the grease. As usual work outdoors. But go carefully on the wooden parts, don't soak these parts. Just carefully wipe over with a damp cloth until the grease is dissolved. It should all clean up a treat
Cheers, Ade.

Hi JH, didn't you just buy an Arisaka? That one should fit just fine. That's a great find, and price. Whenever I find stuff like that in junk stores, I get more excited than a kid on Christmas morning. Sure makes collecting fun! Can't wait to see it all cleaned up.
