    The badge on the beret is for French Foreign legion paratroopers, though it says Commando on top and has a 5 underneath, so perhaps 5th French foreign legion para commando? Looks very nice whatever it is.

    Those swords with double fullers and characters along the inside
    are rough copies of what European sword blades must have
    looked like when they first appeared in that country, IMO,
    at least as far back as the Crusades.........

    It is amazing to look at the photos from Ethiopia's war with Italy. Many are carrying swords like this or curved swords with Rhino hide shields. They are also armed with various small arms from muskets to carcanos.
