Been a while since I shared a militaria fair haul. This one’s a real great one despite the lack of objects at face value. I will have to make individual threads eventually but for now this will do
For £35 I got this war time dated British entrenching tool. The handle is 44 dated, the carrier webbing is 42 and the head tool is 45 dated. Handle was painted green at one point. I have been needing one of these for quite a while!
For £13 I got this morse code tapper marked to the air ministry. A simple small piece of kit. Tempted to buy a primary school crocodile clip battery set up and get a buzzer to practice morse code!
And the Best Buy today. A BRITISH 1939 ALUMINIUM CANTEEN FOR £20!!! Albeit missing its stopper but that’s a easy replacement since they use the same stopper as the common steel ones. It’s in pretty good Nick. If you know about these and know what they can sell for it’s pretty mental. They are quite rare as a lot of them were scrapped during the war for aircraft production. Meaning you encounter more steel enamel ones. This one was sitting in the bargain tub on the floor. I think most people thought it was just a plain and simple common one! Thanks to warspite and his new book i maybe would of skipped past this!
That’s my luck for the year used up then!
Hopefully you guys have good militaria fairs this year as well!
Cheers
John
