Hi
That is a very impressive collection!
Thanks for showing.
Cameron
Nice! Is that Mauser C96 working?
Lovely but.... how do you keep it all so damned tidy hehehehehe.
Seriously, that is a fantastic lot there, Thanks for sharing
I'd hang out in that room!
Nice collection!
Having all the uniforms displayed in the open, I wonder what you do to control moths and other critters?
Thanks everyone for your comments and questions.
Firstly, the Mauser pistol is not working. In Britain no one is allowed working handguns, so they have to be legally deactivated.
Secondly, about moth damage, i have just never had a problem with this in twenty years of displaying. My house is warm and dry and all the uniforms are regularly inspected- no new holes ever appear. Perhaps it matters where you live and the humidity of your house-or perhaps I have just been lucky? If I saw the slightest signs of damage I would have to rethink the whole thing.
Here are some further pictures of the collection.
There are several faults with these displays that have already been brought to my attention, including that the holster is on the wrong side of the British Officers service dress.
Other inaccuracies are just due to the limitations of my collection, such as the german infantry visor cap clearly does not belong with the officers uniform, and the shooting lanyard on the waffenrock is the wrong type for an artilleryman.
Best wishes,
Douglas
