never tought I might ever own one, but life is full mysteries...

I am talking about a (original!)French Royal musketeer sword.

From a important French collection that was sold last sunday.

I am using the salesroom picture, I will pick it up in a few days, and post more pic's , if there is any interest!

It is engraved with; second compagny of musketeers and the French makers mark (in Paris).

And comes with his leather scabbard.

I tried to get a helmet too, but prices were mad... even a felt hat went over the 6000 euro's...

And I am not talking about the tricorn musketeers hats we know from the silver screen...

Congrat's. Can't wait to see more photos.

Do I see the name "D'Artagnan" inscribed on the scabbard??
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

No Dartagnan, I am afraid ;-)
Should do some research to see who served in the second compagny....! :-)

Here are pictures of the highlights, from the sale.
That helmet was one I was after too, but no luck...
There was a French Field marschall baton as well, that went for 10k.

Deep pockets with plenty of money are required at some auctions! These days my wife stitches mine up.

    Cheers,
