Interesting the 3 "Franco Guard Guy's in Uniform" early Photo?
They look Spanish - not "Moro" (native Maroccain on Horse Guard?)
Is there more INFO on the "Spanish Escolta (Escort) de Franco?"
Thanks & Regards Germanski
P.S. Here my Buckle (just got from Spain) I attached to 2" Belt
Logo: "Una Grande Libre" a Great Freedom
The more I read about it the more I think that were two diferent things (both Franco’s personal guard). If anyone can clarify it would be great.
The buckles in this thread are from “Guardia de Franco” (I think…)
It’s a bit confusing why Franco would have two personal guard units.
The "Guardia Mora de Franco" was an elite military unit originated from Morocco. They were Franco's guard during the civil war and the first years of his regímen and were formed by selected soldiers among African armies.
The “Guardia de Franco” was a paramilitary right wing organisation in Spain (1944-1977) during Franco’s dictatorship, mainly formed by Falange “old” members (vieja guardia Falangista)
Pics from Guardia Mora de Franco and Guardia de Franco
Yep interesting, many Thanks..seen also Motor Bike Escorte?
The Big Brass Buckles (fit 50mm /2" Belt!) sold mostly as: "Escolta de Franco"
"Escort!""Not Guardia de Franco" another Mysterie?
