You are very welcome my friend. I should have noted that I love the fact he disregarded regulations and didn't pick out his unit numbers to replace with metal ones. We see that from time to time on Waffenrocks. My theory is these individuals may have been promoted during wartime and so they didn't wear their Waffenrocks to unit functions anymore and could get away with keeping the stitched unit numbers. I've even seen metal numbers stuck on over stitched rather than remove them, but that's even more rare.
