Congratulations on this acquisition which I personally think is a highly distinct DAF-Werkschar buckle manufactured by and as you have said, Dr. Franke und Cie. KG., Lüdenscheid.

The cog wheel design is a delight and of course, super reverse markings.

very nice buckle with most of his original finish .......

Based on the maker markings, looks to be an early buckle. Here is an early nickel HJ with the same Franke markings. Non-magnetic except the prongs etc.
