Re: Help me NPEA "Napola" Dagger. True or False?????
Dont like it at all, the crossguard and tang dont have the proper markings, color of the scabbards is wrong.
No wear on grip or scabbard, newly painted one.
and crossguards are made from brass.
The blade has no proper crossgrain or a decent etch.
This is a recent build fake.
Re: Help me NPEA "Napola" Dagger. True or False?????
There are alot of issues with this dagger and I have to agree with Gerrit on his comments. The scabbard looks to be Eickhorn but the fresh paint takes away all hope of what ever it is , blade, tang, crossguards are not consistent and precise with Burgsmuller types. The top of the upper crossguard has been opened more times than a roulette wheel could spin. The grip is very well done,, but not period,, the tang clearance opening at the lower part of the grip Screams fake!! Oversized and mishaped opening. These daggers are highly reproduced and this particular one has some challenging and questionable issues.
Below is a text book example belonging to GDC member Stirnpanzer and a look internally of the crossguards and tang. This example is what is seen of this producer. It is extremely difficult to find an Authentic NPEA Students dagger anymore. Regards Larry
