Here are some photos of my new Reichsarbeitsdienst dagger I purchased recently. This dagger has 90% of its finish and seems to be in very good shape aside from some chips on the scabbard. I am however curious about the initials etched into the handle thy read “KZ” I am wondering if these Initials are to its original owner or a post war collector perhaps? I have never personally seen a Rad dagger with initials carved into it. If anyone has and ideas I would be very great full. Thank you!

Nice Rad knife cool militatia ...but Im not too fond of the initials on the grip as it appears to have been done with a dremel...yet I would wait for sharper eyes who know the differences in engraving types.

Hello ! These are called a 'Hewer' or 'Haumesser', as stated it is original and there are several threads with personalization on various locations, as to when your item was engraved is any mans guess, here are a few examples.

Thank you sir! I have never seen Engravings like this on a Hewer so I really appreciate you providing examples. I suppose this is brings down the value of the piece?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it is an original piece and that has merits of it's own, we will never know who or when the embellishment was performed by, it could have been a returning G.I.
