Default RAD hewer w/ early hanger

Hey gang....Here's my Eickhorn unit marked RAD Hewer. Got the original hanger with it to boot! Unit markings show that this piece was actually owned by the specific unit and issued to a number of men....amazing that it's still in this kind of condition. I think these unit owned pieces are harder to find. Given the squirrel motto - this piece is a pre'38 made item.

As for the markings .... according to the Littlejohn book on III Reich labor organizations published by Bender, it looks like the Hewer would have been the property of Abteilung 804 out of the Arbeitsgau (work district) of Magdeburg.

    Cheers!

Rob - very nice Hewer/hanger rig and display - The real early hewers with the full Hirschorn (Stag)grip are tough to find.

Hello Horst! Glad you like it! Yes, I've never owned one - but I've had the pleasure of seeing a couple of full stag examples....NICE!

Rob - heres my full stag RAD with the early hanger - maker on the Hewer is Eickhorn which was the only maker of these early daggers.
