New boy in the class!
This tunic came with some other stuff i purchased...
it missed collar tabs, shoulderboards and a sleeve eagle...
Collar tabs hard to find!!!! and expensive!..
So now it is a proud Wachtmeister der schutzpolizei!
will do more pics when belt and buckle arrive!
here he is together with my Meister der schutzpolizei and my Hauptmann der schutzpolizei ss commisioned!

That's what started my collecting interest many years ago.. the Roman history always fascinated me as a boy.. and then the third reich followed
Well of course there is a connection. The Nazis had an obsession with Nordic themes, but they seem also to have appreciated the Romans, certainly those parade banners evoke the Roman Legions. I've also been fascinated for a long time with the Roman history.
They very much appreciated the Romans and their workmansship... have a look on Albert Speer´s Construction plans for Germania! All was inspired from the Roman empire.
And yes the connection was there.. Look at the German gorgets.. also inspired from the Romans.
I enclose a couple of pics from backside of the helmet so you can see the resemblence to the gorgets
