What are your thoughts on this particular patch. It appears as though it was glued to something at one time.

My two cents.. I believe that there was an "Order" at one time to eliminate the district on such pieces and thus we see some with and without district / or area !! G

I cannot give a definitive answer to authenticity but it looks legit, I also kind of recall that different colors represented something.. Hmmm..

That "Order" seems not have affected Werkfeuerwehren sleeve eagles which were introduced in August 1942 displaying the location name.
