The belt appears to be a late war example.
The buckle looks fine to me, you can compare with my example with the same markings here.

In my opinion it is an original buckle, however I wonder, what has happened to the finish? One of the characteristics of these buckles is the factory applied, matt gun metal coloured chemical finish, which is quite distinct.

Perhaps over exposure or over brightness on the digital image Post Processing?

Attached are images of a GES. GESCH. 1 which was posted earlier on the Forum and where the still retained finish stands out.

Attached also are images towards one type of fake GES. GESCH. 1 and for any collector familiar with an original die stamped example, the cast imposter is simple to recognise.

I like the leather strap by the way, although in theory, it would not have been worn with a die stamped aluminium buckle which had an integral catch. “In theory” should be emphasised however!

    Regards and best wishes,

    David
