Any opinion on this item, please?
Hello community,
I found this piece whilst I cleared my summerhouse. It was in a small wooden box between some others WWII tools, so I am absolutely certain it dates from that WWII period.
This item measures 8cm x 6cm x 6 cm, and weighs 2kg... really heavy for its size. On one side it has 3 holes. One of them is so narrow, that just a wooden toothpick fits into and it's 3 cm deep. Two other holes have the same diameter ca. 0,5 cm, and are 2 cm and 0,5 cm deep. On the opposite side is the widest hole. It measures ca. 0,7 cm diameter and ca. 2,5 cm deep.
Perhaps one of yours have an idea to what purpose that piece could be used.
Thank you.
Best regards.
G.

Re: Any opinion on this item, please?
The smaller hole would appear to be countersunk so that it could be attached to something else while retaining its flush surface.

I'm afraid I don't understand how it could work. Why even the smaller hole? Could you make an example, please?
Thank you

Re: Any opinion on this item, please?
countersunk is something that enadles the head of a screw to be flush with the object in question see attached1_en.jpg

It feels like the holes are threaded inside. For what purpose could be it used, what do you think?
