Hello Wilhelm, I would like to say how sorry I am to hear this. This also happened to me, on a much smaller scale, but the pain is the same nonetheless. I hope that they catch the perp(s) and throw away the keys!

As an Auctioneer/specialist at Catawiki.com I would like to offer any help/assistance to you that you need. I will pass on this info to the rest of the Miliitaria Auctioneers, we have one who lives in Belgium, and in other clusters as well. Of course the Photos and any other info that he provides will be of great importance in identifying these items if they come through us for auction. We review 1000's of lots each month and are always on the look-out for such things. As a matter of fact we just had one that was identified as stolen and was removed right away. When all the dust had cleared, the item was indeed from the victim, but was sold before the collection was stolen, but the victim was very grateful for our awareness and us taking interest in the case.

Again just let me know what we can do and I will get right on it, and please pass this on to Mr Gillain.

Please pass this on to Mr. Gilliam.

    catawikiauctioneer:
mr. Gillain is finishing the website, which will be "airborne" soon.
There was a delay, due to the fact of finding out what actually was sold before the theft in the last six or so months.
The website will be loaded with photographs from the most important and rare stolen items (I know as I have seen the
    development for the website).

The name for the website will be told in a message that I will post at War Relics, as well as WAF and the HJ-forum. So,
all readers of these forums can pass on the information and spread it over the world.

For those I know personally there will come extra the same announcement and will be send to their email-adress.

    HELP TO FIND STOLEN COLLECTION
    €500 - €1.000 - €100.000 REWARD

Help me to find the stolen items of one of the most important European collections.
Between September 8 and 11, 2017 one of the largest and most important collections of German WWII historical artifacts was stolen. This collection included headgear, uniforms, flags, banners and pennants, brocades and belt buckles, cuff titles and armbands, gorgets, enameled and cardboard signs, NS toy figures and for example thousands of III Reich period cloth and metal insignia. Besides the considerable financial loss of the vanished collection and above all 50 years of collecting and research, it gives me the feeling of “total emptiness”. I do approach the collecting community and all of those familiar with the world of militaria and military-shows. Please help me in tracing the stolen items. A new website: “Stolen Items WWII” (www.stolenitemsww2.com) will show pictures and descriptions of the most important, representative or unique pieces. Swastikas can be censored. With the actual items they are untouched. Please keep your eyes (and ears) wide open for any abnormal item offered to you or coming on the market. Spread this message to your collecting friends and dealers to avoid this happen to you too.

    images reward 3.png

I do offer a reward between €500 and €1.000 for each “rare” item that will be found (see the word “Rare” written in the description of items of the website).
To the one, who gives the golden tip to find the entire collection, I do offer a reward of € 100.000.

Thanks in advance for your indispensable help: Philippe Gillain

If you have information, please contact me at museum@phg.be

PS: WRF-members, please check the website the coming days or week as more will follow, like signs and such..........., but it is needed to be "airborne"!!
If you have information see at the end of the announcement for contact. Please do not bother with all kinds of questions

Update on the stolen collection. Still missing but detailed individual photograhs of the collection are seen here at this link. Keep an eye out fellows for hopes of preserving these irreplaceable pieces of history. Kindest regards.

Ok thank you Wim, we got it and also in the email. I will make this a point of discussion next week in our weekly auctioneers meeting and make sure everyone is alert and on the look out.

I just wanted to say that Mr. Gillain is lucky to have friends like yourself, and I am sure with this positive response from the community that those creeps will get what is coming to them.

As a US Army Vet and an ex-cop, I can tell you that I have seen the bad in this world, but when I see people like you going out of your way to help others in a time of need, it gives me hope for us yet.. ;-)

Take care and we will let you know right away if we come across anything.
