A truly iconic and beautiful plane.
The profile being instantly reqognizable.
A pity - I always thought the Vulcan was one of the nicest delta wings ever - second only to the SAAB Draken!!
THAT bird is gorgeous stuff! ( rrrrroger Mr Tracy, Thunderbirds are GO )
That will be a shame! Glad I saw her showimg off at Duxford this year !

I saw that news this morning, very sad. Grace and power indeed.
This has been posted before by Ned I think, but is perhaps worth another look. Missed approach and go around, with that awesome howl that I remember well from St Athan displays in the 1980's.

It would be a shame. I have been lucky enough to see her fly several times at the Victory Show.
Cheers, Ade.

An immense pity, especially in the 30th anniversary year of the Falklands War-one can only hope that if grounded as a hangar queen, she at least is kept undercover for preservation for future generations to see what Great Britain could do...
PS Danmark-I remember the 'Thunderbirds' ep that featured a somewhat modified Draken.
They used to have a static Vulcan at Blackpool airport, sadly now long gone as it was disintegrating before our eyes even then. When I was about 7 or 8 I went around it with my dad and got into the cockpit to mess with the controls. At the very moment I was pushing the throttles forward, a large nearby helicopter was noisily getting ready to take off. Suffice to say, I was nearly touching cloth.
