My thoughts and prayers will be with him. I experienced a horrible flood myself when hurricane harvey hit back in 2017. It's an indescribable feeling when you have so many of your belongings 'and home' ruined in the blink of an eye.

Thanks Kateri for alerting me to this .... Luis is a really good man. Polite .... Knowledgeable and has genuine passion for WWII. I hope his family can get back on its feet and I will do what I can to help.

I just tried to donate but the donation form doesn't seem to work. Do I need to create an account first? Excuse my ignorance but I am more used to putting cash in a collection tin!!

Oh no, I actually PM’D Luis only this morning.....

This is very sad news. Thank you for posting Kateri! Wishing Luis, his family and all people affected, all my very best.

I've just made a donation without any problems Mark. Do you have your card registered to make secure on line payments?

I do hope that forum members will donate to help Paul out, but past experiences have led me to the conclusion that most people on here are about as tight-fisted as you can get when it comes to parting with money for a worthy cause. When the late Glen66 passed away I tried to get members to donate to cancer research, but that fell on deaf ears, as did the attempt promised by one of the mods to hold a collection in memory of Big Ned. When you consider the large sums of money parted with by forum members for items of militaria, it is somewhat shameful they can't find it in their hearts to part with a few quid to help a worthy cause.

    Cheers,
    Steve

Same for me Mark. My bank has put a block on my account for Fraud (Diff country). Extremely Aggravating to say the least. I will wait for it to resolve itself (its Sunday here) and hopefully be able to contribute. PSA - If you are donating .... Do it once (not 3 times like I just did) ... Wait for your bank to send an Authorization saying its cool ... THEN donate once you have access

Yes I do but the page doesn't get that far. There is no response to clicking the "Donate" button. I'll try going to the site a different way.

On the subject of Cancer Relief; personally, I do donate regularly as that awful disease has killed several members of my family and my wife is currently in remission. I also as you might expect, support the service charities especially Help for Heroes and Diabetes UK. I do know what you mean though as some people will not donate to anything even when it affects them but others do support their own chosen charities and one can't donate to every charity without becoming needy yourself!
