I am beyond words, it's too saddening.
I met Eric at the SOS and thought he was a gentleman. I think I said to him before I left that I would hope to meet him next year.... It's just so sad.
I can't write anymore. I'm shocked.
RIP

Sad news indeed, my sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.

Very tragic - he was a great contributor to this site! He will be missed!
RIP.
His status needs to be changed as soon as possible to "In Memorium Member". I am still shocked. We had been talking back and forth for some time now-he was one of the few members here to be in my "friends" list. Only 45 years old. A lifetime ahead of him. How sudden things can change...

"Much that once was, is lost. For none now live who remember it."
I just got the call from his sister.
Eric was a very good friend.
I use to talk to him on the phone 2 to 3 times a week
The funeral will be Saturday.
I will miss him so much.

Terrible, terrible news.
Eric and I had conversed many times over the last
several years and he was a friend to most of us
here. My deepest sympathy to his family.
We will miss you Eric.........
R.I.P.
Regards,
Steve.
What a shock! Once again life has a way of making us aware that we are here for an undetermined amount of time. I always looked forward to his visits to my tables at the SOS. Eric was a very devoted collector who studied what he collected. This is a terrible loss to his family and also our community. Adieu friend.

LIFE'S LOSERS NEVER LEARN FROM THE ERROR OF THEIR WAYS.
Wow, unbelievable. He just replied to a helmet post I made on Sunday. He impressed me as a real gentleman and a passion for the hobby. I am afraid I do not have Facebook, if someone could post a condolence on my behalf I would appreciate it. A great loss for the collecting community.
Thank you Larry for alerting forum members.
This is terrible news.
I remember all too well how Eric had gone offline after the Joplin tornado, and our fears back then that the worst could have happened to him... and now, out of the blue, it really has.
Only two weeks ago, he had sent me a PM, letting me know about plans of going to Germany this autumn and asking whether it would be possible to meet. Now this will never happen, but even if I only knew him through his forum posts and a few PM exchanges, Eric has always struck me as a good and decent man.
My heartfelt condolences to all his family members. RIP.
I have visited Eric at his home in Joplin . This is sad news.
As many times as I have had friends die it is always mind numbing. He was a good man.
