As has been mentioned, ID'd by his buttons, so an important part of military history and a useful guide to archaeologists when not much else survived. An interesting story for me as I have only recently read two accounts of this campaign as the Royal Welsh Fusiliers were involved. Also when I lived in Amsterdam, Castricum was the nearest place to the city that has any topography and for a son of Wales who found the flatness of the country somewhat depressing to have somewhere to visit that had some lumps and bumps was a real boost, though of course, it is only scrubby dunes, but still good to visit and the wife and I visited there fairly often.

Jerry
