I'm a German engineering fanatic. My favorite cars are the VW, BMW, Mercedes Benz and Porsche . My first few cars were such. My apologies for the poor images of the '91 300E.
It's late and the mist has obscured the paint. I've been cleaning it all day and its night. Ill get better images in the day.
Mind if I join the German car group? I have owned several vintage Porsche 914's since having bought my first one in January 1998. It was a white 1974 2.2 liter 4 cylinder. A little while later I picked up a yellow '74 mainly I was planning on building into a dedicated autocross racer. When my original car developed a severe case of terminal rust, common to early Porsches, I bought my current ride, a 1972 Bahia Red 1.8 liter.
I had the engine in this car replaced with the 2.2 liter. The '72's paint was completely dead, so I had it stripped to bare metal and repainted Jaguar Racing Green. This was the perfect time to have a set of steel GT flares added. This is how the car looked when I bought it:
I have a German style bar in my house. Instead of a dining room or spare bedroom I made my own Pub. I`m not well off by any stretch of the imagination but over the last couple of years I`ve pieced together my own pub. Darts, fruit machine, Guinness surger, German satellite TV and always at least 5 Bavarian wheat beers in stock. I had my own `Oktoberfest` last year. I even have my own facebook page.
Only thing (a good thing) is that there is no till. Beer is free.
Tonight I had a couple of mates in and there was Beer, Bratwurst and Bockwurst with curry and mustard on the menu. The 3 beers picture was tonight.
If anyone is in my neck of the woods the beer is free
I was for 100%.
I still drink it but only occasionaly, in fact I stopped since oktober last year .
But thise was how we travelled (meet my wife !);
And here I am enjoying a mid summer night concert at the local tennis club;
