Dambusters logbook thief is jailed for two years
"A "despicable" military historian who stole a Dambusters hero's logbook worth £10,000 from his 92-year-old widow has been jailed for two years."
I hope his cellmate takes a "liking" to him!....

Go in a "Tight End.. Come out a Wide Receiver" G
I'd rather be A "RaD Man than a Mad Man "
What a total s%^), glad to see he has gotten his "just deserts". Lets just hope that the Government don't go and "reclaim" the log book as RAF property as they have done with historically important logs when re-discovered in the past! It needs preserving, but the family have done pretty well in that respect so far. Leon.
I hope his Dam gets Busted on his first night .
He'll be "section 43'ed" off. He doesn't look like he'll handle gaol too well. Stewy
What a piece of garbage this man is , and a pervert as well as a Thief.
John Fraser was in the second Aircraft to attack the Mohne Dam , the Lanc M- Mother , Lancaster serial number: ED925/G Call sign: AJ-M was flown by Guy Gibsons closest friend John Vere " Hoppy " Hopgood , the Lanc was hit and an engine set on fire on the run in with the Upkeep bomb bouncing over the dam and destroying the power station . Hopgood gained height allowing John Fraser and 2 others to bail out before the aircfaft crashed . Fraser believed that Hoppy sacrificed himself so that the others had a chance to bailout and he named his son John Hopgood Fraser and daughter Shere after the village where Hopgood grew up.

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings
No doubt sitting in some piece of dirts collection Leon
If it does get found it should go back to the family , the last one which belonged to Navigator Viv Nicholson had been in the RAF archives before it was stolen from there and put out for auction.
Viv flew with David Maltby and was Number 5 aircraft to attack the Mohne , dropping the bomb that finally broke the dam , they survived the Dams raid but were killed on the infamous Dortmund-Ems Canal Raid 15th / 16th Sept 1943 when many of the original surving Dambusters were lost . Viv's family lived next to my Mother in law !!
