Hi Guys

I was in Leeds recently for business, and took a spare few hours to go and visit the nearby Royal Armouries Museum - having seen numerous videos of Ian from Forgotten Weapons featuring the collection there, as well as their own YT channel, I thought I was in for a treat...

Well, all I can say is that I am glad I didn't go to Leeds especially to visit this place! It has many fine displays (heavily slanted on swords and muskets etc, as well as some fascinating Indian and Ottoman armour and weapons displays). BUT... its WW1 and WW2 collection is hidden on a mezzanine floor (3rd floor), and is really IMO quite paltry and basic, especially given the actual wealth of the collection they actually have not on display. The only highlight for me was a genuine mk1 FG42 in a display case, but the rest could be easily matched by any WW2 museum in Normandy or the Low Countries.

Shame really, what do others think that have been there?
