Charming little free corps!
I couldn't do that! We had my grand father who live in with us who was taken prisoner, two times by the germans (I & II WW....some have all the luck....!!)
My dad took that picture of me when I was around 6-8 years old. So that would make it the middle 60's. Playing "Army" or "War" was really popular with us kids back then. The helmet I am wearing was a toy German helmet made by the Marx Toy Co. and the Thompson SMG was a water gun. I still have the pistol belt & M1911 ammo pouch that I am wearing in the picture. The helmet did not survive but I have another Marx toy German helmet packed away somewhere. It is grey with double decals. The one in the picture came camoflaged without decals... wish I could find another like it.
Stuka f,
That looks painfull, I hope everything heals up OK.
No helmet law here. I am fully aware of the risk. Everyone
who rides goes down eventually. You just hope it's not going
to be a bad one. I've been riding for 40 years and have had
my share of road rash. but (so far) nothing serious.
