Pammy, the reels of film could be dry and brittle from storage, and may possibly
crumble when they are run through a projector. The slides will probably be
in a lot better shape, and easier to keep. Are they in colour, or B&W ?
You should try to find out if it is post-war reprinted/re-edited film, or raw
original footage. Same with the slides - ie: when were the photos
taken ? They could be slides copied from WWII newsreel film.
Sometimes the date that the slide was made is printed
on the border of the cardboard holders.
It would be good to know who shot the film and slides, if it is original footage.
Like I always say: 'Don't go crazy with the bids..........!'
