As Ade already knows not lady Mountbatten. Talltom you have to be one Hell of a pilot to park it like that .
Here are some of the Allied photos that I have:
Tec 5 John B. Wells (Oddly enough, his discharge papers have him listed as "Negro"). He was in the 55 Ord. Co. and served in Luzon, New Guinea, and the Southern Philippines.
Next we have Lt. Gifford, who was a member of the Headquarters Company, 8th Amored Group.
We had some discussion on the forum about this picture... the gun behind this group of soldiers may be the "Dora."
Finally, I have photos from PFC Richard M. Parks. He served with the Headquarters Battery 155th Field Artillery. He saw action in the Ardennes, Northern France, and the Rhineland.
Here are pictures he took during his training at Camp Bowie, TX:
Must have been a snake problem at Camp Bowie...
This kid is chomping on a cigar, AND he has 5 or more stuffed into his shirt pocket.
Here are some pictures Parks took while overseas:
At an airfield in Detmold, Germany:
Digging the Officer's Latrine. I just noticed the battle damage on the building behind them...
Destroyed German plane and an 88
Destroyed Panzer III
Knocked out Shermans:
Destruction of Frankfurt:
The caption on the lower picture says: "That's my jeep on the left!" In the top picture, we see Parks(?) driving around a possible VIP. Anyone have any ideas?
