Picked up this today in with some other paperwork and medals ,its a Soldiers Paybook to

Service Number 4343638

Died 24/07/1940

Aged 22

1st Bn.
East Yorkshire Regiment
who rests at Brookwood

I was thinking maybe he was wounded at Dunkirk? or died why training in the UK , from what i could find the 1st Bn were in the Far East for most of the war so most likely died why training in the UK but lost on where to find out more , Anyone have any ideas ? thank you for any help
