US Helmet change over
Interesting photo showing US soldiers swapping their P1917 Brodies for the new M1 fixed bail Helmets.Circa 1942.
Not sure of location Photo description just says "at point of Embarkation" I read somewhere that troops were also issued with the new M1 pot when they were in Brisbane Australia on their way North ? (Photo shared from Batrac International)

Nice photo. I don't know where it was taken but here's my 2 cents worth.....
They are US Army and the guy to the left is wearing technical Sarge stripes. The pith helmets were worn in all warm climate locations, including mainland USA. The wooden barrack building is very much of US construction type, so I'd guess on a US military facility, perhaps on Hawaii rather than Australia.
I'm sure someone else will provide you with more / different information.
