He would do so and be Enlisted into the Army on June 16th 1943. I haven’t been able to find any information on what specific unit he served with, but I know he did serve overseas.

The second document is an Award of Disability Compensation. It states that he William was discharged from the military on February 10th 1946 and is awarded $11.50 a month as compensation for his wartime wounds which is listed as “Frozen Feet”. So it’s very possible he served somewhere like Belgium, possibly during the Battle of the bulge.
