WW2 Era Lot Belonging to Soldier. Prayer/Calendar and Notice of Classification Cards.
This lot belonged to a Wesley Evans Davies. The first card is dated May 9th 1942. He must have made a case that his family depended on him because he was classified as 3A (Deferred for dependency reasons). That class would be abolished on December 11th 1943.

The second card is dated February 13th 1943. He was now classified as 4H (Deferred, age 38 to 44 inclusive). That class would be abolished on March 6th 1943.

The third card is dated May 11th 1943. He was now classified as 3A-H (Deferred for dependency reasons. age 38 to 44 inclusive). That class would be abolished on December 11th 1943.

It seems he would eventually be forced to join as the few classifications that would have kept him out of the war, were abolished.

The fourth item is a prayer card/Calendar. It has the year of 1945. Throughout the calendar, there are various days crossed out. “Kessel”looks to be written next to the month of July. “Eschwege” is written by the months July, August and September. (possibly places he went through). August 14th is circled. Most likely signifying the announcement that the Japanese would Surrender. September 2nd is underlined and has “3 o’clock” written next to it, most likely signifying when Japan formally Surrendered and WW2 would finally come to an end.
