Anyone know if this is a commonly found map? It’s a 1944 Normandy map that belonged to Major Robert Dexheimer, 979 Field Artillery Bn. The swagger stick was also his. A U.S. Militaria Forum member superimposed some of the critical battle locations on a photo of the map. The 3D elevation model of “our area” is interesting, as well as some of the notes on the map advising soldiers of where to find the best cover. The back side of the map is also interesting, and I have posted a photo of the same map sheet that was hung in Eisenhower’s HQ in Reims, France. Anyone familiar with this map?
