I recently aqquired this magnificent big photo of 10 sovjet soldiers (photo taken 22.12.1939 in Leningrad). I would be very happy if someone could translate the text on the back, mostly names I suppose.
Regards Jan

Can't help with the translation but a very cool pic indeed! I can't help but wonder many of these lads lived to see May 1945!!
Cheers!

Was thinking exactly the same. The photo has a lot of character, the faces of those young soldiers just stick to your mind don“t they..

When I see this photo, I must think of this thread: https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/unifo...nasterka-4908/
I cannot imagine that by all ten soldiers the right pocket was destroyed.
Paul
I cant either...

A most interesting photo! This has to be some as yet unknown (to us) pattern of Gym.
Cheers, Ade.
I have always believed that the single pocket was a characteristic unique to coveralls. However, this image proves me incorrect.
If the owner of the image does not object, I'll post it on the Russian laguage forums and see what our Russian and Ukrainian colleques have to offer as far as opinions/facts.
Non nobis, Domine, non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam!
Yes thats ok.

Ok: mobilisated and sent to Leningrad for the service in Red Army , 22 December 1939 year
The inscription made after the war and looks like the professional jobs of the soldiers are added
1 Row, from right to left
Gindis- live in the Beryozovka ( probably village)
Petlenko V.D - Chief of the school in Gulyaev
Babich P.D - Manager of the school in Talov
Komarov- The building painter
Second row
Hizhnyak-
Rozshkovsky- Beryozovka
Gorbal-
Konovalov- Beryozovka
The one pocket can came for repairings, but not the laft, due of it's for the documents only. But not in that case, due of all of them without the right pocket
