NKVD id book 1940
Hi Guys, I don't really collect much paperwork as my Russian is so poor
But here is one item from my collection.
Maksim Stepanovich Gubar', born 1914, Ukrainian, Ukrainian and Russian speaker, workers class background, Komsomol since 1937, NKVD rifles private with no specialities but rifles, yet called up October 1936 into NKVD 13th Cavalry Regiment, then transferred to NKVD Convoy units, 141st in October. Released to 1st category of the reserves from Transfer Point No. 3 of Leninsky District Military Commissariat, 16 November 1940.

Hi Ade, dont know nowt about these but I take it this is the equivilant to a Soldbuch?

Hi Ben, yes this was the basic soldiers ID book, very much like the German "Soldbuch".
Later war issues were smaller in size.
