Not sure what is means (BZ), possibly just the marking of the factory they are made at - I have a couple of canteens with the same marking - however, only late canteens made in the 1960s have it...
Canteens with no marking or "H.R." markings are made in the 1950s.

Regarding your Q: I can't comment too much about the M70 chinstrap - I was never drafted, for I have high blood-pressure - but I guess since these helmets still being used to this day, after almost 50 years unchanged, I guess they are ok.
btw:
I just found these two M70s - didn't buy them yet, but will write to the seller - each costs around 8 EU:
helmet 1: a white one - maybe an army base fireman's / civil-defense or maybe winter camo? with M65 green helmet cover (like you have)
helmet 2: with a rubber(?) helmet camo cover I've never seen before, so it's interesting...I think it's brown colored.
PS: Regarding these cloth helmet covers with rubber-band sewed in inside...you think I should display them on the helmets or not? The rubber band will tire after time, but I don't know how will they last longer?

Thanks fabe ,i should of taken a picture of the liner ,on mine the cover has been tightly bound with string so perhaps this would be a good idea for you also ,the second helmet you show has been fitted with french army salade cover ,very strange to see it on a hungarian helmet i must say ,nice price though so why not

Hello fabe ,a few things to show and gain some advice from you please if possible ,firstly the m70 underside ,the cover is tied down well by the string and so i wont try and remove it ,i show a few stampings which i hope you can decipher ,it looks to be dated 1988 but maybe a batch number im not sure ,also ive had the hungarian gasmask and nbc hood in my collection for years ,are you familiar with this configuration ,the nbc material has been glued around the lenses ,Its the ink stampings id like more information on ,now I've always been led to believe this was issued to iraqi army because of the overall appearance and slap dash paintwork to the filter ,also is the triangle hungarian or am i correct in it being an iraqi acceptance stamp ,you are the best person to ask as I've tryed without a definitive answer long before now ,also while taking the picture of the helmets i noticed my hungarian m50 has an etched triangle in the center of the shell any clues to its meaning ,i also took better pictures of the owners nameregards ,james
I'm not sure that I can answer all your questions - but here we go:
- your M70 was made in 1988
- MEO stamp - that is a factory 'quality control' stamp - everything military was MEO stamped since the late 1940s
- 55-58 numbers on the liner: size - adjustable for size 55-58 heads (for exmpl. my new one that just arrived yesterday is size 59-62 (the biggest size available I think)
- nbc: dated 1987 - the triangle could be an unknown factory marking or maybe an Iraqi marking - I can't recall seeing it before.
- M50 name: ... László (Leslie) - I can't read his family name - maybe you could spell it out for me...

Many thanks fabe for all your help and for what you know about the mystery ink stamp on the nbc hood at least you confirmed it wasn't any known maker mark of what your aware so for now or untill i here different ill stick to my iraqi theory ,i think the name on the m50 liner pad is To'Ka ? does this sound about right
