I have this model 1889 Prussian dress sword with folding guard, and I'm hoping somebody here might know the unit R. S. 8.1. represents? Thanks!

The troop stamp R. S. 8. 1. stands for: Reserve Schützenbataillon, 8. Kompanie, Waffennummer 1./Reserve rifle battalion, 8th company, weapon number 1.
