Hello all. Just thought I would post some pics of the bayonet from my collection. It's a M1871 Sawback bayonet. Blade is stamped Emil Hermes-Ern Solingen, made in 1876. Has anyone met this manufacturer on bayonets 1871
I was wondering if I could get some details on the regiment markings, G.R.B.K.2.97.

No I haven't. I would think Emil Hermes would not be seen often on a M1871. The marks on the crossguard are definately regimental, but new to me. Possibly "Garde-Regiment".

You wrongly read the maker this is a F.A.Hermes Solingen, which is normall producer of S1871, the outdoted unit should be looked, anyway the new unit could be Garde Reserve Batallion K? 2.company and weapon nr. or Bezirks Kommando of unknown Garde Reserve Regiment?
