Which is rarer: EB1 demag or EB42 Sawback
Colleagues
I would just like to know your opinion on which of the above EB1 or EB42 is the rarer /harder to find? Or is it that they are both rare pieces? I know that the EB1 trench/bayonet knife is widely copied so I need to be cautious as we should be. The reason for my question ids that I have an opportunity to purchase either one and I just can't decide which to get!
I have both trench knives and bayonets in my collection and the EB1 would fit nicely in-between both collections, but then the EB42 appears which is in great condition and I have not seen many of those about.
I look forward to your response.
Many Thanks in Anticipation Allan

You would need to post pictures for any evaluation.

I do not need to post pictures as I only want and opinion as to which is the rarer item, the EB1 (demag) or EB42 all steel swayback, which I have not seen many for sale?
Cheers Allan

Personally I would go for the EB.1 but only if its a very good complete one.
These command a higher price than the EB.42 bayonet.

I would agree, but suggest you post photos on the forum before buying as a second opinion is always helpful.

Or for those of us not in the know,We would appreciate if you ask for an opinion ,We could view it and decide . That is if you want our opinion,That would just be a suggestion. I collect bayonets and I am not sure which ones you refer to.

Personally, I think crank handles are ugly as sin and have no
real desire of ever owning one. I would not turn one down if
it were given to me but I surely would no spend a lot of money
on one.
My advice, buy the one that appeals to you. not the one you think
might have better resell value.

Well Greg, I'm the opposite. I love the crank handle and it is on my wish list.
Don't get me wrong I also love the Butcher's!!
Thank you delboy for posting those pic's.
May I ask. Is the hand guard 3mm thick?
Is there and acceptance mark on the spine above the riccasso?
May I see the DEMAG maker mark?
I guess I need to study my Ersatz Bayonet's and there numbers.
