Any other marks around the muzzle ring/crossguard and on the blade?
This is a Mannlicher Berthier M07/15 or M16 bayonet, mostly serialed with Saint Etienne rifle, good condition match with scabbard. b.r.Andy
"Saint Etienne rifle, ..." Do you mean Lebel rifles?
No,Lebel rifles were not continued in production in WW1,this bayonet was destined for Berthier M07/15, or for M16 rifles, they have a Mannlicher clip magazine. The bayonet is called for his main design as Epee M1886/15 Lebel , but was used with WW1 rifles not with older M1886/93 Lebel rifles. b.r.Andy

This a French M1866 bayonet for the lebel rifle , otherwise known as a Lebel bayonet. This specific one is from WW1 because it was made without the quillon. Very nicely number matched scabbard and bayonet! Could you measure the blade because these were also when captured by the Germans re-used as ersatz bayonet. If I know the size I can tell you.
