Hello, I have started a collection of fighting knives. The M3 knife Utica I showed earlier I have now sharpened. As I am somewhat experienced with Japanese waterstone sharpening and it was kind of dull I trusted myself to do so. I think the result is good, especially the tip is nice and sharp again However since i am kind of a newbie I wanted to ask you what you think about sharpening vintage fighting knives? Does is affect value either positive or negative?
In most cases I believe it is best not to sharpen.

Guys i am in the market for a mk1 M3 either with or without the m6 as i know of one elsewhere with a mk2.
With the current climate and hard times if anyone as one to part with contact me, shipping could be an issue so UK or Europe would be better, this will complete my set of all 3
